“I told you not to tell anyone about what’s in the school newspaper!” Yajna is frantic as she storms up to Aneesa. She’s mostly upset at herself for letting the cat out of the bag with the contest announcement.
With guilt dripping from her face, Aneesa admits that she told the others. “I only mentioned it to Lindi, Avery, and Ollie – and they said they wouldn’t tell anybody.”
“Well, then how did Malory find out?” Yajna is not happy. Aneesa swears that she didn’t say anything to Malory, but Yajna shakes her head in disappointment. “Now that she knows, soon the whole school will know too…”
Aneesa feels terrible. “I’m really sorry. I’ll make it up to you.”
Yajna has no choice but to forgive her friend. Besides, the newspaper will be published in a few days and by then everyone will know about the contest. She will do better next time in not leaking unpublished stories to the public.
